Tom and Jerry have a fight over the radio. Jerry wants to listen to some music, Tom doesn’t. Tom wins by pulling out the plug. Meanwhile, a dancing bear has escaped from the zoo and makes his way over to Tom and Jerry’s house. There is a large reward being offered for the bear’s return. Tom spots the bear and begins to phone up the authorities. However, the bear responds to any kind of music, so when Jerry plugs the radio back in, the bear instantly begins dancing, using Tom as his partner.

Each time Tom tries to call the authorities, the bear dances with him. Tom traps the bear in a closet and cuts the cable, turning the radio off, but Jerry is one step ahead — he turns on the record player. The tango music from the record causes the bear to burst out of the closet, door and all. Tom smashes the record over Jerry’s head and chases after him. Jerry jumps on the piano and plays a waltz.

Tom, while being forced to dance with the bear, whacks Jerry off the piano, and the mouse begins playing a hoedown on a guitar. Tom twists the guitar until it is virtually unplayable. Jerry switches on a portable radio and Tom disposes of it by throwing it into a tree. However, the radio’s on button is switched on after it is caught on a tree branch, and the radio station is playing six hours of continuous dance music.
